Music Video

This is my music video. It is unfortunately nowhere near finished, due to poor timekeeping by both me and members of the band. I hope to intensively record the video in the next few weeks to bring it up to the standard it deserves.

Target Audience

The target audience for my video are the 'indie' generation of teenager, varying from 16 to around 20 years of age, this is portrayed by the song itsself and the clothes worn by the band members. I also intend for my video to be fast paced and interesting.

Planning- Location

After looking around for suitable locations, and then taking into account the practicality of taking all of the equipment to such a location, I decided that the band's practise area was relevant, which is in a disused classroom at a primary school. The chipped paint and 'dingier' feel ties in with the grittiness of the song and gives out the effect i previously looked for.

Planning- Shot List

There are many angles that can be used in my project, here I have compiled a list with shot names and descriptions:

Extreme Long Shot- These shots can be taken from up to half a mile away, and are normally used first to establish a scene and would be ideally used at the start of my video, or using a slighty less 'extreme' distance to cover the entire band playing.

Long Shot- When in the context of showing a person, this shot will show the entire body, with the head near the top of the frame and the feet near the bottom. This is a good shot for focusing on one character or member of the band without getting too intimate of a shot.

Medium Shot- This shot is showing a character from the knees up, with little background, which would suggest that the location has already been established previously in the video. Once again, a shot that can be used when tracking individuals, and would offer more detail than a long shot.

Close-Up- A shot that when used in context with a person, only shows the face or a specific detail, which can become a very intimate shot. This shot can be used to show mise-en-scene, instruments or specific expressions on an actors face.

Extreme Close-Up- This shot is as it is described, an extreme version of a close-up, which will show a specific detail such as a mouth or eye, this can be used for dramatic effect, especially with the vocallist.
